How to use your wax melts
Boon wax melts offer the same fragrances as the Boon candles. They are made without a wick and the fragrance is released by popping the wax in the glass dish of your Boon wax burner and lighting a standard size tea light underneath. The aroma is released from the wax melt as it starts to heat up. You can often see the fragrance vapour coming off the melt.
When your tea light has run out you simply place a new one underneath. Over time the fragrance will decrease in your wax melt. This normally takes about 3 tealights. You will then be left with an unscented wax melt. When this happens simply pop it out with a blunt instrument (so as not to damage the glass dish) like a small spoon and replace with another wax melt.
You can also dispose of the unscented wax by soaking up the molten wax with cotton wool pads or kitchen towel. Be sure to blow out the tea light first and be careful not to burn yourself. If you have a log burner or fire pit, these wax soaked cotton pads or kitchen towel make great firefighters!
